Performing Arts Academy
Description
Beginning Fall 2009 -- discover a chance to express yourself through the arts! Students in the Performing Arts Academy will explore a wide range of artistic and creative performing art careers and experiance the thrill of captivating an audience!
Through this two year College Tech Prep program, students will earh high school credits through Pioneer Career and Technology Center and students who qualify through their high school coursework will be eligible to earn free college credit.
This program was a comprehensive community effort developed by a broad range of community educators, arts professionals, enthusiasts, and local partnerships. Successful students will be a step ahead and prepared upon graduation for their next step in pursuing their chosen career.
The first semester students will explore the arts with an overview of careers in music, film, theatre design, theatre performance, and dance. The remaining semesters they will focus on their chosen career.
Students will complete academic courses at their home school, the Richland Academy of Arts, via virtual learning, or through early college credits.
