Networking

Description
Networking Systems prepares students for careers dealing with network systems analysis, planning and implementation. Students will gain the necessary skills to analyze network system needs for design, installation, maintenance, and management of network systems. Skills acquired will help students to obtain network certifications.

Possible Careers
Business Machine Repair Technician, Computer Repair Technician, Electronic Design Technician, Industrial/Electrical Maintenance Technician, Microsoft Certified System Engineer, Communications Equipment Repair Technician, Network Technician, PC Hardware/software Technician.

Skills Learned

  • A+ Certification, Cisco Networking Certification,
  • Basic Network cabling and design, network protocols, basic electricity and design, semiconductor and digital circuits, AC/DC circuits, microprocessors, fiber optics, CTECH Copper, CTECH Fiber Termination, computer relay logic, router configurations
  • PC maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, power supplies and voltage regulators
  • Basic computer programming, basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Physics for electronics, audio frequency amplifiers

Required Prerequisites
Algebra I or equivalent (grade C or better)

Helpful Background
Basic programming, mechanical drawing, manual dexterity and good color vision
