Health Technologies

Description
Health Technology offers students an opportunity to learn skills for health care occupations. The fast growing health care industry provides more than 300 different careers with preparation required at the professional level, the technical level, and aide or assistant level.

More than 2.8 million new jobs will be created in health services as demand for healthcare increases because of an aging population and longer life expectancies.

Possible Careers
Nurses Aide, Physical Therapy Assistant, Medical Office Worker, Respiratory Therapy Assistant, Radiology, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy, Home Health Aide, Emergency Medical Technician.

Additional careers with an Associate's Degree
Nursing LPN, Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Assistant

  • Safety, emergency response, CPR/First Aid, infection control, communicable disease, laboratory skills, medical terminology

Required Prerequisites
Algebra I or equivalent (grade C or better)
Biology I or equivalent (grade C or better) is recommended.
